Full Paediatric First Aid - For OFSTED Registration

1 day practical + 1 day eLearning + optional EFAW

Empower Yourself with Essential Lifesaving Skills for Ofsted Registration.

This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.


It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Award.


This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted. In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend the 1 day practical and complete the E-Learning.


Syllabus


This course covers the following subjects:

 

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Resuscitation
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Fainting
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Choking
  • Head injuries
  • Diabetes
  • Infantile convulsions
  • Foreign bodies
  • Control of bleeding
  • Anaphylaxia
  • Eye injuries
  • Fractures
  • Heat and Cold
  • Asthma
  • Sickle cell anaemia
  • Meningitis
  • Burns
  • Shock

 

Certification

Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills and there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge.


Numbers

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age with a certificate that can be offered to all, subject to assessment.


Location

We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling. For individual course places please see our open course list for booking details and prices.

Costs

 At your place of work: For a group course at your place of work, the cost would be £550 (up to 6 people), £25 per person thereafter (up to a maximum of 12).

At our training centres: £90 per person.


Optional EFAW: All of our courses cover both the adult and paediatric aspects throughout, which means that you can also recieve an seperate EFAW qualification if required. This option  is available at an additional cost of £25 per person.


Duration:

This course is delivered as blended learning. Therefore, all learners must complete pre-at-home eLearning before attending the practical training day.


Duration: 12 hours of blended learning. Pre-at-home eLearning and a one-day of practical training.


Location: Available at your place of work or various locations across the UK.


Certificates:

We aim to provide e-copy certifications within 48 hours of course completion. Hardcopy certificates will be sent within three working days of qualification. 


Where can I do it:

This course is available at our open training venues across the UK or as a private course at your place of work.


We also deliver all of our courses at your place of work anywhere in the UK. 


Essential information:


Clothing: Please wear loose-fitting trousers, leggings, or jeans. We advise against wearing a skirt or anything short that may make you uncomfortable during practical assessments.


Under 16 years: As work-based training, we do not permit persons under 16 years into the training room. 


Fit for Training: As work-based training, you will be assessed in all areas of content to meet the certification requirements. The CPR/AED assessment requires learners to kneel on the floor next to the casualty. Please ensure that you can physically fulfil these practical requirements.


Please also bring a photo ID for verification.


Lunch: We suggest that all learners arrive with lunch and refreshments for the day as we cannot guarantee there will be facilities to purchase refreshments at the venue.


Parking: Available at most venues outside of Central London. It is the learner's responsibility to check any parking restrictions at the venue before leaving their car.


Timings: You must arrive at least 15 minutes before the course starts. Learners who do not arrive on time may be turned away from the training day and must pay in full to re-book.
